ChildLine – Childline is the UK’s free helpline for children and young people. It provides confidential telephone counselling service for any child with a problem. It comforts, advises and protects. www.childline.org.uk    ‘Get help now’ section. Freephone 24 hours 0800 1111.

Get Connected - Free, confidential telephone and email helpline finding young people the best help whatever the problem. Provides free connections to local or national services, and can text information to callers’ mobile phones. www.getconnected.org.uk  ‘Directory of help’ section (there is a wellbeing link and other topics). Freephone 0808 808 4994 (7 days a week 1pm-11pm).

Youth Access - A national membership organisation for youth information, advice and counselling agencies. Provides information on youth agencies to children aged 11-25 and their carers but does not provide direct advice. www.youthaccess.org.uk Directory of services (search for help in your area). Signposting service: 0208 772 9900 (Mon – Fri from 9am-1pm & 2-5pm)

FRANK – Confidential information and advice for anyone concerned about their own or someone else’s drug or solvent misuse. www.talktofrank.com  Need help section. Freephone 0800 77 66 00 (24 hour service, free if call from a landline and won’t show up on the phone bill, provides translation for non-English speakers)

Youth2Youth – A confidential helpline run by young people for young people up to 19 years of age who need emotional support. Helpline 0208 896 3675 (Monday & Thurs 6.30-9.30pm)

NSPCC – The NSPCC Child Protection Helpline Freephone is 0808 800 5000 (24 hours) and offers child protection helpline for any child or adult concerned about a child at risk of neglect, sexual, emotional or physical abuse. NSPCC works in partnership with childline. www.nspcc.org.uk

Stress Free Kids - Helping children teens and adults manage stress, anxiety and anger while building self-esteem and a more peaceful sleep www.StressFreeKids.com

The Lowdown - The youth health website provides information on mental wellbeing, physical health, sexual health and relationships of all kinds. www.getthelowdown.co.uk

Samaritans – Samaritans volunteers listen in confidence to anyone in any type of emotional distress, without judging or telling people what to do. Samaritans doesn’t offer advice, but by encouraging people who contact us to talk about their feelings we are able to help them explore all the options they have. www.samaritans.org.uk Talk 2 someone & your emotional health sections.
