A voice and a choice for our mental health
‘Take Notice’ Photo Competition
To coincide with World Mental Health Day on October 10th we ran a photo competition called ‘Take Notice’ . We asked people to photograph the things around them that they may otherwise miss in their busy day-to-day life. Sometimes we can become so swept up in modern life that we can forget to notice and appreciate the little things which make us happy.
We collected these images in a Flickr album, which can be viewed here. On Mental Health Day (October 10th 2011) we displayed these photos at Brighton Youth Centre, and the public voted on their favourites. The winners can be seen below!
First Prize – Light Through Trees
Second Prize – Stereotypes
Third Prize – Brighton Pier
All the winner received a cash prize and a framed picture of their photograph. In addition all entrants were displayed at the Mind Wellbeing Open Day on 31st October 2011 and at an exhibition in Jubilee Library in December 2011.
