Research and Evaluation

Right Here is a new way of helping young people so the funders want to know how well it works and if anything could be done better.

The Tavistock Institute are undertaking research for Right Here to see how well Right Here works for young people in each area, which parts work well or don’t quite work as well and how to improve on Right Here.

The Tavistock Institute is an organisation based in London which does a lot of research with families and young people. They will evaluate the projects work by talking to young people involved in the running of Right Here, or those who use it.

The Tavistock will use a variety of research methods which involves talking to people either in person or on the phone, having 1-to-1s or group conversations, and asking them to fill in questionnaires for us. There will also be special learning days with the staff and young people to see how the projects are running in the four different areas and how they can learn from each other.

Right Here Brighton and Hove have specific roles for Research and Evaluation volunteers who work with the Tavistock Institute to help develop, influence and support the evaluation of the project, helping to assess the impact of the project on the resilience and emotional wellbeing of young people aged 16 – 25.
