A voice and a choice for our mental health

Young Men’s Health Champions

We are interested to hear from any men aged 16-25 who are interested in becoming Brighton & Hove’s Young Men’s Health Champions, including (but not exclusively) deaf and hard of hearing, those with learning disabilities, black and minority ethnic, trans young men, and gypsies and travellers.

What do the Young Men’s Health Champions actually do?

  • The team meets up weekly (Wednesdays 6-8pm) to think up creative ways to get the opinions of other young men in our city
  • Consult with young men to gather their experiences and opininos of NHS funded health services (eg dentists, sexual health, hospitals…)
  • Write creative attractive reports and present findings at various important meetings, where you can influence improvements to health services for young men
  • Make sure young men’s health issues remain high on all the right agendas across the city

If this could be up your street, read our Volunteering FAQs for more info, or click here to find out how to apply.
